| Gary
P. Kearney is a native of Piedmont, California. He received his
Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from Northwestern University
in 1961 and his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1965 at the University
of California, San Francisco. On completion of active duty for the
United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict in 1969 he trained
as a Urological Surgeon at Harvard Program of Urology, Longwood
Area. Since 1973 he has been on the staff of the Brigham & Womens
Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, New England Baptist Hospital where
he is Chief of Urology and Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
In 1999 Dr
Kearney retired as a Captain of the United States Navy, having
served since 1961. Tours of duty include flight surgeon for VAQ-33,
an electronic counter measures squadron, Chief of Surgery for
Navy Reserve Fleet Hospital, CBTZ-07, Newport, Rhode Island and
Chief of Urology at Groton Naval Hospital during Desert Storm.
He currently
serves as Treasurer of the Theodore Roosevelt Association whose
purpose is to perpetuate the ideals of Theodore Roosevelt, the
26th President of the United States. Dr. Kearney is also a Trustee
of Rogerson Communities, a nonprofit organization devoted to provide
innovative, accessible, affordable housing and services for elders,
persons with disabilities, low income individuals and families
in the Greater Boston area.
Dr. Kearney
is an avid aviation enthusiast who enjoys swimming and traveling.
His wife, Susan is an antiques dealer with major interests in
gardening and reading biography. They currently reside in Boston
and Duxbury. And have four adult children, Michael, Alison, Shanon
and Christian.
