1916 Theodore Roosevelt 1916

TR learned of the death of his youngest son Quentin in July of 1918. Quentin, a fighter pilot for the US Army Air Corps in WW1, was shot down behind enemy lines.

Burial of TR Archie sent a cable to his brothers, "The old lion is dead." Roosevelt died in his sleep in the "Gate Room" at Sagamore Hill early on the morning of January 6, 1919 from a pulmonary embolism.
