  • As Governor of New York State:

The Palisades Interstate Park (PIP) was created during TR's term as governor of New York. His involvement and that of the New Jersey Federation of Women's Clubs and other prominent New Yorkers led to the creation of this bi state park and the conservation of a nationally significant natural and historic feature. The important relationship of TR and New Jersey's women to the NJ /NY conserved landscape is evidenced by the Palisades Interstate Park.
