Teedie’s Arena Newsletter
The TRA has begun soliciting submissions for its NEW newsletter aimed at K-12 students. Teedie’s Arena, named for Theodore Roosevelt’s childhood nickname, will be a companion publication to our popular Arena newsletter for TRA. Has your child learned about President Roosevelt in school? Have they visited: Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace NHS in New York City; Sagamore Hill NHS in Oyster Bay, NY; Theodore Roosevelt Island in Washington, DC; Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the Dakotas; or any of the other TR-related sites in the United States?
We welcome:
- Short essays
- Opinion pieces
- Drawings
- Photographs of your child at a TR site
- Poems
- Other relevant work.
Each participating child will be sent a Flat Teddy as a “thank you” for their contribution. Authors/illustrators of published entries will be sent a PDF copy of the issue of Teedies’ Arena in which they are published, which makes a TR-iffic addition to a child’s submissions to their teacher, in their letters to relatives and friends, and for inclusion in college applications. High school students wishing to work on editing the newsletter for byline credit should send a statement of interest and resume.
All submissions should be sent to Nicole Goldstein at: ngoldstein@theodoreroosevelt.org.
