Lenora M. Henson grew up on Long Island, in the long shadow of Sagamore Hill. Her interest in Theodore Roosevelt was piqued when her junior high school social studies teacher assigned a particularly memorable article about blue milk. She went on to earn a B.A. in History from SUNY Geneseo, as well as a M.A. in History from the University of New Hampshire, where her focus was on Progressive Era reform and immigration. She joined the TR Site staff in 1999, and currently serves as its Deputy Director/Curator. Her most recent article (“How Western New York’s Only National Historic Site Came to Be” celebrates the TR Site’s 50th anniversary and appeared in Western New York Heritage magazine.
