General Zinni retired after serving as Commander-in-Chief of the US Central Command. His four-decade career in the Marine Corps took him to seventy countries and numerous combat operations. Since retirement, he has been a corporate executive, diplomat, and university professor. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics, a master's in business, a master's in international relations, a master's in negotiations and dispute resolution, and a doctorate in education.
