Presentation of TRA Rose Award
Gary Kearney is a native of Piedmont, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors from Northwestern University in 1961 and his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1965 at the University of California, San Francisco. On completion of active duty in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict, he trained as a Urological Surgeon at the Harvard Program of Urology, Longwood, MA area. Since 1973 he has been on the staff of the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital, and New England Baptist Hospital where he was Chief of Urology, President of the Medical Staff and Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery In 1999 Dr. Kearney retired as a Captain of the United States Naval Reserve, having served since 1961.

He served as Treasurer of the Theodore Roosevelt Association and currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees. Dr. Kearney is also a Trustee of Rogerson Communities, a nonprofit organization devoted to affordable housing and services for elders. He is a Trustee of the USS Constitution Museum. He also is a Commander in the US Priory if the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem under its Sovereign Head, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. And when he has time, he is an avid aviation enthusiast!

The National War College (NWC), National Defense University (NDU), Department of State (DoS), and Department of Defense (DoD) do not endorse the TRA or its activities. Allowing members of the TRA to participate in the academic symposium to be held at NWC does not constitute an endorsement of the TRA by the DoD, NDU, DoS, or the NWC. The TRA is not charging for the privilege of entering Fort McNair or Roosevelt Hall for the purpose of attending events held at NWC.
