The Theodore Roosevelt Association Appoints Chris Cosentino as Executive Director

(May 2025) – The Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA), located in Oyster Bay, NY, has appointed Chris Cosentino as its new Executive Director. Chartered by Congress in 1920, the TRA perpetuates the legacy of the twenty-sixth President of the United States.

“Chris brings to the TRA an impressive range of talent and experience in marketing, communications, and strategy implementation,” said Gregory Wynn, President and Chair of the TRA. “I am excited for the energy, intellect, and initiative that Chris will bring to the TRA leadership team.”

Cosentino has spent two decades working in nonprofit organizations specializing in fundraising, strategic partnerships, and integrated marketing. Prior to the TRA, Cosentino has held leadership roles at the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, American Association of Suicidology, Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, and the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Throughout his career, he has implemented strategic plans generating unprecedented funds and awareness for several organizations at both the local and national levels.

“It is an honor to serve as Executive Director of the Theodore Roosevelt Association, and I am committed to carrying forward Theodore Roosevelt’s extraordinary legacy, which continues to inspire to this day,” said Chris Cosentino, Executive Director of the TRA. “Growing up in New York City, I have always had great admiration for Theodore Roosevelt, and I am eager to work with our Trustees and staff to take the TRA to new heights.”

With support from the executive search firm Harris, Rand, and Lusk, the TRA’s Search Committee interviewed a nationwide field of exceptionally qualified candidates over the course of the 8-month effort.

In addition to his career in nonprofit leadership, Cosentino is an accomplished ice hockey coach leading New York University to two ACHA National Championship titles. In 2013, Cosentino was hired by the New York Rangers to lead an on-ice training camp at the conclusion of the NHL lockout. During his coaching career, he has held leadership positions at the minor league, junior hockey, and youth levels advancing countless players to top collegiate and professional hockey.

Cosentino, 42, holds a B.A. from Hofstra University, and will be relocating to the New York City area with his wife and daughter.
