Theodore Roosevelt Inducted into Department of Labor Hall of Honor

On Friday, December 19th, the U.S. Department of Labor officially inducted President Theodore Roosevelt into its distinguished Hall of Honor during a ceremony at the Frances Perkins Building in Washington, DC.

Secretary of Labor the Honorable Lori Chavez-DeRemer and Deputy Secretary the Honorable Keith Sonderling welcomed representatives from the Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) to celebrate Theodore Roosevelt’s enduring legacy as a champion of American workers. TRA Executive Director Chris Cosentino and Trustees U.S. Representative the Honorable French Hill, Nicole Goldstein, and Jaimie Orr were in attendance.

Secretary Chavez-DeRemer spent time learning about the TRA’s continued efforts to preserve and promote Roosevelt’s contributions to American history and public life. “It was a privilege to host the Theodore Roosevelt Association and Representative French Hill at the Department yesterday to officially induct President Roosevelt into our Labor Hall of Honor,” said Secretary Chavez-DeRemer. “President Theodore Roosevelt was a tireless advocate for the American worker, and we’re proud to honor his legacy.”

The induction honors Roosevelt’s groundbreaking work to protect workers’ rights and improve labor conditions during his presidency. His progressive leadership and commitment to fair labor practices helped establish many of the workplace protections that continue to safeguard American workers today.

The Theodore Roosevelt Association extends its heartfelt thanks to Secretary Chavez-DeRemer and the Department of Labor for recognizing President Roosevelt’s extraordinary and lasting impact on the American labor movement.
